Snowfall

Snowfall

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

As the sky opens up
dropping to the ground
little pieces of frozen hope
I imagine the spark in your eyes
transporting me to a warm place
where life and death meet in us.

The frozen glory of today
trapping the people in their cars
lends perfectly well to you
and for the first time in countless days
I can tell that the clouds are blessing us
for a happily ever after in the ice.
