The day was too soon coming

The day was too soon coming

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

I cry for you
from the tips of my toes to
the ends of the earth
the glory of your face
and the entangled innocent light
that comes from your eyes
I cry for you

The day was too soon coming
and the sky was all to ready
to take from me the breath of hope
that i had waited so long to feel
as it brushed my skin
 as it left the ground
I mourned hard and clenched my eyes
because the day was too soon coming
