My Love, as it pertains to you.

My Love, as it pertains to you.

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

My love

as it pertains to you

is sordid and brilliant

like the naughty thoughts

of a girl first discovering herself

hiding photos under mattress

clicking off the lights

so nobody finds out

that underneath the pink frill and ribbon

lies a girl as dirty as sin.

My love

as it pertains to you

is timid and strong

an enigma in contradiction

one minute sweet the next on fire

burning a part of you

that you thought fire-proofed

until contact is made with the surface

of something far beyond belief.

My love

as it pertains to youi

is wrist-binding and powerful

like the wrath of all things evil

meeting up with angels and teachers

waging war in opposites

showing at last that when the sun rises

you can live happily ever after.

At times a lie

but more often then not the truth

plain in it's beauty

my love, as it pertains to you.

Very well done indeed.
"as it pertains to youi" is the only mistake i spotted and over all it was exceptional. Wonderfully written, Powerfully gripping, there was no way I would have stopped reading it had it not ended. WELL DONE!

This is stunning! Absolutely a visual and sensory delight. You have portrayed the emotion, conflicts, and "plain beauty" of your love. Well done!
