In this episode, we take a poetic look at compulsive thinking and the emotional static it can cause. Should we just stick out head in the sand and clear the thoughts with silent noise; or can we find healing and balance and aim higher but together. Join me as I discuss enlightenment and voice the Poems Wrinkled and Wired, the Ostrich and the Lion, and Brave Aviator.
As always for those of you who prefer to read, there is also a poem posted below; just keep on scrolling.
Wrinkled and Wired
intelligence
a wrinkled forehead
ripples through a briny pond
awash in a lake of acetylcholine
waves and wells
drowning in grey matter
superconducting
in a cosmological
spacetime ocean
convergence
yes, we agree
you must be right
because otherwise
I'd be wrong
divergence
let's just concur to dis-occur
I can't afford the loss of quotient points
keep my membership
among the high brow, high-wired
bespectacled and bemused
self-identified smarty pants
I recommend rubber soles
beneath your wing tips, Icarus
that way you stay grounded
avoid electrocution
why the frown …
why the sparks …
concentration
consternation
remembrance
don't you like to think
beep, beep, static, beep

I have problems sleeping because of it. lately, I've been up all night like Icarus. (wink) Sucks.
Love the poem, narrative, and your radio voice especially.
No kidding, sugar.! One look at the title, and I soon started scrolling..! And, right again, I was darned well close to sticking my head in the sand; but enough about marriage (sweetness!). Now, for the review:
Actually, this covers more than compulsive thinking. It considers other aspects of thinking too.
Let's scroll down to verse two. "Superconducting in a cosmological ocean", brought to mind; our brains absorbing vast amounts of information - from an ocean of sources which are out there.
Much later on, "why the frown, why the sparks"; made me think of concentration. But, sparks can also represent illuminating realisations; for example. And, one of "your" frowns; can herald a frying pan moment.
"beep, beep, static beep". Er, a line from one of Bjork's old songs; or R2D2 is in the house.? More likely, dear; you kind of had robotic or computer-generated sounds in mind. In the context of such noises made by those devices, when performing their equivalent of "thinking"..?
"Self-identified smarty pants". Oh how you know me, honey; sigh..!
"I recommend rubber soles". Have you been taking advice from the Gambinos' again? I know they're good neighbours, but you know what happened to cousin Marv; when he agreed to their offer of a "concrete overcoat"? And, guess who sent me to fish him out again; you hon.! Anyway, I digress. But, not a bad review write-up from me; and this poem was pretty good too..!

Compulsive thinking and also perhaps thinking to highly of thinking. Descartes ... I think therefor I am ... if someone is thinking and someone is aware of that thinking ... then someone must exist. However ... we have to ease off on the thinking at time ... to be:)
This is like raw free thought flowing and ebbing through the channels of the mind. It takes me inside where thoughts are generated and runs being diverted by obstacles but not stopped Most lovely
Most impressive and I must say .. I like that much of your ink can be enjoyed more than one way .. The last several times I listened to spoken word on Vocaroo, the speaker sounded like an old embittered witch 😎👍

Ooh I love the Poem Pryde - you only have to say 'Icarus' and one immediately thinks of the Great Anglo-American Poet WH Auden. Really Excellent ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Although they do seem somewhat companion like, don't they? Thank you for turning me on to it. TBH ... when I think of Icarus ... I think of Daedelus and Hercules. Haha.
I like to think that people who contemplate think different. Those who face obstacles head on are not like ostriches. We can all be conductors of our band.
Very deep in thinking terms.
