In Times of Hunger

In Times of Hunger

A Story by Pryde Foltz
"

A poetry audio blog, dealing with desires and the limiting of attachment ... for whoever might need it. I sure did:)

"

A poetry blog from the past. If you are feeling as though desires may be getting the best of you and you need a respite from your own hungers, it may be what the metaphorical doctor ordered. The poem discussed is posted below.

12

We see with our eyes

Not our hands

We taste with our mouths

Not our eyes

We fill our stomachs

Not our minds

Your mind cannot be filled

Only unsettled and blocked

Hands will grasp

Eyes will desire

Stomachs will hunger

Fill the stomach, tend to the body

Smile at your desires

Let them pass in and out of view

Never grasp

Settle the mind

Simple, but filled with the wisdom of some fundamentally basic home truths; regarding how best to approach our daily lives.

Clearly, we should look after; both our minds and bodies. Naturally, just as I do.

Without meeting bodily needs, our lives can seem vacuous and empty of zest for life. Just as importantly, our precious minds need to be nurtured and nourished.

So, you came to the right place..! Check out Pryde's store - for that "one stop" mind & body booster package.!

She's got the yin and the yang, audio recordings galore; and much more!

Not to mention, her numerous writings.!

And, she's even known to send out "read requests"; to some of her more ardently dedicated fans! Isn't she..! 🌹💌🤞.

and also to you, Pryde :)
dear Pryde, my mind is never settled, it seeks constantly for truth, for balance in the world, for the continuity of human beings and life. My hands often see through the way I touch, see as I feel the shape of things, the way lips kiss, or the heart beats. Or, how the shape of your hand sees the way it fits in mine as a walk in the park unfolds. Our senses, including our hunger (desire), are always filled with the sensations of life and present us with a rich exchange of human warmth if we open our minds.

Pryde, the way you write, the way your words sound and the thoughts these things give rise to are part of your presence in the continuity of life. I can not help but be thrilled by them. Thank you!!

Mind goodness. No I don't mind at all and may I say right back at you:)
I likey this a lot, especially "Your mind cannot be filled
Only unsettled and blocked."
It strangely reminded me of lockdown when I realised how empty my head had become, thanks mainly to the echo of each thought bouncing around before disappearing and struggling to remember what it was that I had just forgot. (It still happens, but far less frequently)
It taught me to never grasp and accept that it will be remembered if it needed to be.
A settled mind is a happy mind after all. 😃
