If you are having none of the audio part. I got ya. You don't know what you are missing, or maybe you do. It is all good. The written version of Locks Above Water is found below, keep scrolling.
Locks Above Water
intertidal
ebb and flow
play the coquette
play hard to get
but welcome surrender
when the crepuscular tide
blushes to pastel indigo
immerse yourself join the divine cosmic dance a spacetime-caped pasodoble between contrast and appreciation
there is no refusing the lead only dragging your feet tripping and falling chaffing your limbs
there is no dimension and depth current or flow without dark and light warmth and cold pressure differential
swim, little sylph but keep your locks above water
keep your face turned to the solar lather and moisten siesta and umbrella
flit among the dapple
but flirt too closely with shadow
your individuality swallowed lost to a circular tide and flush compressed to singularity
I'm all for togetherness, swimming together but let's keep it at arms length save for in a panic, we together forever
stray past the event horizon, sink to the abyss
kiss the free form octopi the Fibonacci shelled nautilus submit to the spiral never-ending stellar waltz
get giddy and even heady interlace with red-shifted fingertips
but don't over-commit or cling
keep at least one firm toe grip buried deep and anchored
Wonderful advice given in this metaphoric gem, dear Pryde. Falling in love is the most beautiful experience to be had as a human being, but if we don't let that love be free, if we grasp it tightly to us, then it will slip through our fingers. It's ok to swim in the sea of life together, but not clutching on tightly to each other as both may drown. Over committing is not a good thing, it has to be reciprocated by our partner and so, it is best to stay firmly grounded and anchored in the real. Sublime inking, dear Pryde! Amazing depiction and use of various figures of speech. You give excellent advice on the choices we make. Lovely work! Thank you for sharing, Pryde...

Wow ... that made my day. Certainly you as well, dearest poet:)
we all have a natural desire for "wholeness", i think .. we search for that something special that fits the empty spaces .. i think love, falling in love is one thing; but your poem speaks to the risk of putting too much "answer" on it when it really isn't there .. only in part .. we need our own identities in love and being too needy .. to possessive .. etc. are warnings that something must give .. or fall apart .. Fibonacci and sea crustaceans .. very interesting says i! i think your poem is full of flavors and flowers and colors of many a splendored thing :)))))))))))

Yes, love is the goal but then if we grasp or graph at our price to dearly, we surely strangle the love out of it. Fibronacci is an exponential fractal that some life is build upon. yes!!! math is entwined in much of life says i! love and peace and joy to you Pryde!!
The poem seems to laud the virtues of mystical experience, but at the end cautions us not to go too far, to keep one foot in the physical world. Good advice. Extremes, even in spirituality, are to be avoided. We are Being, but we are human, too.
I am listening now dear Pryde. I will order the book tonight. Your books give me ideals and things to ponder for my writing. I need Hemingway, Jack London and Bukowski to keep my mind alive. Good evening from Michigan. I love hearing your verbal stories. A pleasure to listen to my dear friend.

Good heavens, you've done it again; packing in so much word play. So much, ranging from dance moves to the movements of water - and just about everything in between.!
Indeed, the disjointed nature of this style; could be enough to phase - even the most experienced of reviewers lol.
Despite my earlier comments, this still has great uniqueness. And, it made me feel a bit; as if this has a 🎵 musical flow. Almost as if, you had counterpoints and interconnected melodies..?
Woven into this tapestry of words, there is a warning - to keep romance "at arm's length". And, near the very end; a reminder keep a firm enough grip on the here and now of reality - by the "toe"! Thanks for sharing, and allowing me to partake of this literary juxtaposition of assorted melodies....

Yes, absolutely there is rhythm and melody intended and syncopation to maintain edge. I have early works with tidier meter . Maybe I will post some for you to see. I don't know if you had a opportunity to hear the spoken word ... it makes a lot more sense heard.

I'm not sure why, but I have almost lost sensitivity to it. This is strange, because I'm such a sensitive person; and sensitive people tend to relate very much with music. When I was somewhat younger, I actually enjoyed listening 🎧 quite a bit to music. Possible reasons for my odd feelings over music, may relate to my autism, age or meditation taken in the past (or possibly for a combination of these reasons). Anyway, more "read requests" would be good..!
