It starts off quite creepy and atmospheric, and there are a few kind of traditional ways; in which a haunted house has been referred to elsewhere. Gradually though, towards the end; the tone almost seems to lighten. To the extent that, a reader might sense that Spring has arrived. However, it may well be a trap? To lure in the unsuspecting lone traveller, inside that strange dwelling; to "stay a while"..! I wondered what terrible occurrence, drove out the original occupants of that house? By including "made re-sale impossible", that line helped to bring the poem into our contemporary society (as a reminder of an everyday kind of reality).? I enjoyed reading this. Thank you for this detailed review. Yes, tropes can be pulled out to set the mood for the reader and then I did try for a playful but menacing mood. I often employ personification. It's fun.

Spooky yet scented with nature's elements.
When humans abandon a house, it falls apart. When humans abandon dreams, they sadden the hearts. When humans abandon hope, they lose purpose and meanings.
I got this wonderful message from this awesome poem.
