and yet to dream the impossible dream has always been one of humanities best qualities.. to not accept what seems to be, the stickiness of the weave, the limits of the web... our desire to know has always been the thing that has always been said we should fear and never look at, avoid at all costs... two world views and thankfully humanity has never lost its curiosity and dared to look and go beyond the horizons, even if at times we never made it out of the spider's web...
I realize this is a different view than what you are suggesting in your poem Pryde, just sharing and not criticizing... we humans have learned from as well as rejected many different schools of thought in our journey to where we now are...

If I have learned one thing ... one's thoughts create one's perception of reality and there is not arguing one's perception of reality. More than anything this poem is about giving up the worry and living one's life to the fullest because try as you might you cannot escape change. As Hannibal once said if the mountain will not come to Hannibal ... Hannibal will come to the mountain. In other words if you hang around long enough living in fear and doing nothing ... Hannibal comes to you. Now that sounds intimidating ... lol:):):P
some deep thoughts and thorough use of the metaphor ... struck through and through with belief and practice .... in listening and reading along ...its funny how the spider never made an appearance ...and no bug struggling and wrapped ... just the beauty of the web ... your pic added dew drops and lighting .... the bit of quivering breeze from me own mind :)

Hey Pryde, here at work I am not able to access the poem because of some user access privileges, I will sure do when i get to a computer than i can access all your poetry. For now, let me close on them but I will definitely listen to them and review.
i see this two ways...letting go in love, allowing the spider to grasp our heart and keep it in his or her web...
even if our hearts are frayed, we can feel safe in the web of love.
but also the muse...let ourselves be caught...there will be poetry...we are the fly, the spider our muse....we need to just let go and have words spin and weave....

When we are born, most of us are born fearless and then we learn and learn and over-learn to be frightened. Mostly this poem is a strike against worry and big nod toward living. Thanks Jacob:)
