It would seem the two of us have been pondering time recently, your poem here, and one of mine a few weeks back that you reviewed.
It is a deep subject, I have been doing some reading on whether time is linear, as we tend to think of it in the west, or circular, which fits eastern thought. I am beginning to be swayed towards the circular.

Thanks Noel ... Yes, I remember reading the piece and thinking you beat me to the punch. (This piece has been published in Tattoo for several months and sitting around in a rough copy for months before that but as they say ... great minds:)) Poets and philosophers have been wrestling with what time is for a very long ... time. I see time but a system of measurement that allows points in existence (us) to coincide in the space of this reality ... actually just on this planet's reality. We measure time relative to our perceived reality. In dreams time becomes very flexible and as you approach speed of light ... if Einstein was correct ... time slows down to the point of non-existence. It may very well be circular but you would have to live a very long time to truly prove it. But then I suppose some physicist may find just the right mathematical equation to back the circular theory up. Have a good one.
