Author's Note

Pryde Foltz
Monsters contains the short story series Demons, Harlots and Crones, which follows two generations of the Demeere family and its legacy of spite and envy. Included in the series is Demon in High Socks; Holler it out with Lemonade; the Old Lady, Her Plymouth, and Cockroaches; Sex in a Pan; and the Fire Crone and Stone Harlot. Also within Monster’s pages are fifty-odd poems exploring the darker side of human nature and its undeniable conclusion. Two Orphan Sparrows, the Devil is a DJ, the Last Striptease, Beware of Librarians Promising Freedom and many more titles are found within. Ultimately monster asks the reader to look at the darkness found within herself and by facing it, perchance move beyond.

I enjoyed the audio very much. Will come back in the next couple of days and listen to more. I like the notion of all those shards. Great word shards. Cutting and slicing work well, too.

Thank you, Orlando.
A beautiful portrayal of love lost, losing and starting again, the leaves and the glass are a remarkable combination producing a very vivid scenery, sad for it to end badly for you but then love lost is the poets main diet, great writing Pryde :)

Thank you, Richard. Yes I think the muses gifted me on that one. But now it seems like they were alw.. read more
A beautiful portrayal of how many of us soldier on and blunder once more into loves bosom after we lose love.
One very small suggestion if I may:
'A cutting sigh, a slicing glance' You use cut in the first line and cutting in the third it may read better as 'A sharp sigh@ and not lose the meaning?

Cheers John … if I ever do a re-edit on monster I will take your suggestion.
When the leaves fall and the glass shatters reality has, once again, opened eyes which have been so blinded by love. It is a difficult place to be, but surviving it gives you more grit to face the world and you do it with gusto and with eyes wide open and a knowing persona. That is until love, once again, blinds you.

You are most welcome, Pryde . . .
Imagery and words together are able to create a world we would like to visit. You have a distinct style.
It is not just beautiful but intelligent at the same time. You know how to play with words and it is all sport.
Thanks a lot for inviting Pryde.

High praise. Thank you, Avinash:)
Better the fragile heart, than one made of stone. More painful, but one that feels. Great write.

That is for sure. Thank you, Jon.
Incredibly moving. Relatable... Loving with all you have even though your heart breaks slowly, and is so fragile, it's worth suffering for. Until you finally smarten up. Then it frigging hurts like hell for a while. :)

Thank you, Ana:)
This is both emotive and clever. You are the sharpest knife in the drawer me thinks.

Leaves fall and they cut me
A shiv in every sheaf
A cutting sigh, a slicing glance
A perforating wind

That is poetry perfection.
