Wow, this is one of the most metaphorically rich pieces I think I've ever read by you, at least the way I'm reading it...mythology is definitely the way to my poetic heart, and the maritime reference spoke to me as well being from a maritime province...awesome work.

Thank you, Poppy.
The final stanza is my favorite. There is an undeniable rhythm to it that lulls in my mind like waves crashing into the shore. Very lovely and surreal images.

Thank you, Quirklet.
Loved the whole thing, chasing something, something very powerful.

"Offered, but like a fist full of brine, forever out of reach"

This line... This line is killer. I can feel the splash of ocean brine in my hands, staining me with it salt, but never to be captured.

Beautiful writing.

Thank you, Streamline.
"A maritime will-o-wisp, shifting, submerging
A phantom on a silvery, sinking horizon "

Beautiful lines that pay fitting homage to a magnificent creature. I like the mention of Ahab in that classic tale of man vs beast. Wonderful. Penny

Haha. Thank you, Baby.
A brilliant place of haunting... this ghost of a place... of an ancient phantom... and you take us into the depths of the sea... and the self...
