Strays is a collection of two extended narratives and more than forty love-themed poems, exploring the meaning of romantic love while we have it and attempting to find the healing after its loss. Found within these pages is the short story Gutter Dog, the novelette Ginni, and the poems False Skin, the Boy Who Wore Clothes, and the Black-Wit Reveller.
By nature, "The Black-Wit Reveller", awesome as it is, possesses nothing but the sublime genius of a poetic mind. J. Keats should amass a mountain of delights by way of this--will love this piece as I do.
Stunning... this is poetry at it's best. My pen has great difficulty describing nature so beautifully. I have a great deal of respect for what you've done in this piece!

Oh, thank you, PH. I am so glad you enjoyed. It is mutual admiration society between you and I.

I'm honored to be able to affect such talented hands in any kind of way. It's very much mutual!
Beautiful color imagery and wonderful action in this piece, Pryde. Though my favorite season is autumn, I especially liked your descriptions of spring:
dressed in daffodil and verdant green
budding arbour blossoms flowing from your hair...
Very nice!

A colorful, exciting journey through the seasons, Pryde. Winter is definitely not my favorite season, but your description of Nature and Winter waiting out the night captured my imagination and made it sing:
They await out the night under a blanket of ivory, silent, bereft, and wondering
wrapped in an crepuscular, cold embrace, somehow still inviting
Very well done!

I have lived in a more northern clime than where I live now, but not warm or snow-free enough for me, by far! I am smiling at your comment - I take care not to fall but when the ground gets icy it's hard not to!
As the resident poetry simpleton on this site, I feel that it's my duty to inform you how good this one is; if I'm reading it and thinking it's intelligent, descriptive, and, on a personal level, sums up my grumpy feelings about winter, then you know you have something special here.

Great description of nature. I like how you dressed her up and then allowed to rest. Fall had just begin. Most of us are wishing for Spring knowing the cold of winter is coming. I enjoyed the poem. Myths are my favorite. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

I woke this morning to a refreshing chill in the air and the news telling us that Autumn would arrive at 4:44pm on the 22 on Sept. But, all that information means nothing compared to the beautiful poetry I am thrilled to read about the change of the seasons. This is one of the most beautiful poems I have read about those changes and makes me look even more forward to natures colorful displays. Thank you for your wonderful poem and for making my morning coffee a little more enjoyable. Trace

You are most welcome, Trace. Thank you for you must lovely review.
When I read these descriptions I hearken back to my youth in New England where we actually had four distinct seasons. Nicely rendered my friend. Your friend in words, Pete

I adore the change of seasons, the scents, the colors, the feel of the air and the changing of everything to new. You have captured these feelings Pryde, with a beauty that brings nature to bloom more beautifully than Mother Nature herself.
This has to be my favorite of yours to date...loved this.
