Halo

Halo

A Poem by Prudence Desideria
"

I wear a halo in your eyes, sometimes I can't help but wonder why though...

"

I wear a halo

I wonder why sometimes

Complete utter strangers

Spilling out deep dark hidden things

To me

little old me,

and my halo

Then they turn, every so innocently,

“What should I do?”

Shining bright

Walking through the cemetery

Tombstones surrounding me

The cold and dark

Quite comforting

I wonder if you knew

This is where I seek your answers

Would you still ask me?

Ghosts whispering to me

So peaceful

They leave me alone

Maybe

If you could just see past my fluttering eyelids

I wear a halo

In their eyes

I wonder why

Sometimes…

Iron gates swing open and shut

Under my gentle touch

My skin is pale

Shining in the star light

I look up but can’t see it there

That halo

You keep glancing up at

I wonder who’s really insane

You or me fellas

“Just breath, I’ve got you…”

and as I reply

they settle

calmly under that light

That non-existant halo

If only they knew…

Very interesting piece... I know the pressures when people think you are some kind of angel... I always say I make plenty of mistakes and aint as good as you think... they never listen.
