DishonestyA Poem by ProvemorumjayIt delves into my own experience with dishonest people. The even numbered stanzas make up this short narrative of a previous experience with a dishonest person whom I no longer associate with.
People live their lives and mind their business,
Yet one thing do they do that sparks my ire. It pains me when people turn out to be dishonest, For being untruthful is not a gem desired. I see you pacing in, coming close, to me Striding with utter confidence and devious glee. Little do you know of what is it I know, That you're just a coy facade, a sham, a show. It really grinds my gears whenever I hear lies, Burning me mad with shock, pain, and distrust. With that have I realized something profound and wise, To bear not the falseness of those who rust. As you utter your words that're quite peculiar, You prove to me again that you're an inveterate liar. Please stop it with your deceitful, shameless, ploys; I am a person, a human being; not one of your toys. What hurts me the most is what I witness often, To think you have the assured reliance of your peers. Albeit in the end am I left all alone and broken, With them becoming yet another of my deepest fears. © 2015 ProvemorumjayAuthor's Note
