Fire

Another oldie of mine; It is about passionate desire and how it easily conflagrates across humans. Has been posted online elsewhere.

Fire is wild  
Fire is untamed 
Fire is fiery passsion 
And fire can burn you in amazing awe 

A single spark can ignite 
Ignite the souls of mortals 
Burning up inside contained 
Screaming out to be free 

Nothing can quench a fiery desire 
For it consumes only to grow evermore 
As it crackles and engulfs  
Until there is nothing more to burn and singe within 

As it explodes out of control 
It can be the harbinger of life 
Or it can be the harbinger of death 
Yet nevertheless it stills bring a cataclysmic end 

Finally as it settles down 
It reveals a new world  
A world of excitement and wonder 
For the better or for worse 

And from the ashes shall come forth 
Life anew yet old faces will still remain 
And somewhere in that mess 
Is a new spark that will reignite once again
