but what sort of person is he how does he sound
Loud or soft gruff or squeaky
A phone would take care of that
His voice she would know
She could record their talks
And listen to him in her bed
His loving kisses would not be sound less XXX's
But lip smacking PPP's
She would love to hear his kisses when she dream of him in her bed

Bet when they get angry enough, that accent comes down to earth really fast, dearie!

i am so glad you asked me opinion little Kitty ;) believe those instincts ... ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun! there are some wonderful tales of successful on-line finds ... my Norma and I found each other on a site that supported finding school friends and Classmates ;) we had dated in HS (she didn't remember) we lived single lives for quite a long time .. i widowed and she divorced ... but we spent far more time on the phone .. then met and have stayed together now 10+ yrs .... this story of yours smacks of something not right ... people get played and taken far more online than not .. if he has a computer....he has a phone ... c'mon! i like the rhyme .. its the way one speaks .. the rhythm in places changes up but because of the humor and story ..it didn't matter ... love the cafe' mention ..i have found this to be overwhelmingly a positive place to share .. good on ya Ditzy ;))))))))))))

I agree so much with you when you say if he has a computer, he must have a phone! I see you have the experience and I appreciate you telling me that. I have Skyped with him though and it has always been great. Now it’s a stalemate. I’ll bear all your words in mind E. I’m especially glad it turned out so well for you and you found your lifeline Norma (A friendly meow to her) I’m glad I took my doubts to the café, people have such helpful views here. I’m also thrilled you appreciate the rhyming and the humour in the poem. I’m crazy about writing humor. The only thing I can forgo a dinner for. Many thank yous!

We will all have our own opinions on this poem......i will keep my own thoughts private as I believe one should.
Needless to say, sometimes things are not all black or white, but shades of grey. We are all exposed to greys individually in our lives, and we make the best of them as we can. Sometimes those greys are not wanted yet we have no choice but to adapt to them and do the best we can with them. At the heart of this poem is the issue of faith and trust. There is nothing malicious when the truth has been given. It is only malicious when the truth is witheld. As Chris has written below, the difficulties can be overcome; with the tech at our modern day disposal, and with commitment, desire and reality meetings. Nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it. In all areas of life.
I am impressed with the scope and structure of this poem. Fourteen stanzas of humour, suspense and barbs to the heart. Nicely conceived in this free verse paradise. I hope your outcome is a positive one.

You’ve given me an impartial view, weighing both sides. I’ll keep your words in my mind. The words of this cat are written with no malice for anyone in heart but with an inquisitiveness, curiosity and fun innate to her. Having just gone through your admirable poetic contribution to this website, I find your praise very humbling. I hope to write with you some day 😺

This is the most gripping tale I read after a long time and it is quite fascinating and at the same time captivating. My opinion on such a man is that he is hiding something and it would be better to stay away from such a person. Who knows what's going through his mind. Such a man is a schemer, in my humble opinion.

It's fine, Dhara. You don't have to explain yourself.
Always a pleasure :)
What an intriguing story of an online liason, which appeared to benefit both until..... You know kitty, I think a man without a phone in this day and age is a bit of a puzzler. I have to agree here, that a long distance romance with no phone calls is going to cause a problem. My husband and I when we first met were two hundred miles apart. Every evening was spent on the phone. That's how we got to know each other. Your poem a delight and an entertaining distraction, but I will be interested in responses from other readers. What a puzzler.

I was just waiting for your response Chris because I see you as a very cool and balanced writer friend. I’m not the type to usually air my grievances to others but this time the dilemma has been too great and I was left wondering if I was actually justified in my views. You have validated, to an extent, my thoughts and I am grateful for it. Long distance relationships are hard work. One has to give it all. Thank you very much.
