Perfect Squares

A pink blue calendar drapes the wall

Dates etched on it neatly

Like perfect Neapolitan Squares

Shimmering evenly in their slots  

Oblivious to their sweet magic

Their invisible hold on my life

Waiting to be devoured, consumed

Like a plateful of Neapolitan Squares

I decided to read the oldest thing you have on here I think this is it:) neapolitan in the states is a type of ice cream so I was a bit confused cause my calendar only melts only after the days expired:/ but I like your neapolitans more they remind me of petit fours these tiny little cakes I used to buy one after school when I walked home in this lovely little bakery along the way:) and of course your unmelted calendar of potential looks equally as delicious:)

I must confess, I've been so taken up by the beauty and magnificence of words that it's only recently that I've realized that we actually write back at us and what gets ingrained is as vital as what we express outwardly. You have great insight, dear goblin. We do write for ourselves. We must first write for ourselves. I must do it for me first.
