Chapter 1A Chapter by Robert J PoeCreatures of the Unknown
The world around me is engulfed in darkness. The sky gives no intimation of the savory light revealing soon, so the playground of fears stay strong. While walking toward my destination, a black lamp towers above me. The light illuminating from the lamp only enhances the alarming nature of the land. A soft, eerie orange glow flows from the lamp. The light glows in a shallow pool around the post and reflects off the cars and houses around me in such a way that is sets the perfect tone for any horror movie; the essence of hazard, and the perfect place for any blood-thirsty creature, whether man or beast, to strike. The wind adds onto the terror as it rips through the land. It fills the ears with only the voice of itself and dismantles the ear’s ability to detect any approach from around. The gusts awaken the hair from its sleeping point to wave its existence to any and all watches from around. Even the simple scent of the grassy ground adds a tingle to the sensation of discomfort. The ground expels an aroma of fresh rain that had previously fallen; the humid and moist scent of the air gives way to another insignificant fear of the creatures that awaken after a rain shower. © 2013 Robert J PoeAuthor's Note
