To a Princess of the Dawning Year, Ode to Euphoria

To a Princess of the Dawning Year, Ode to Euphoria

A Poem by Prophecy

Like an Eternal Spectator, I to love exploit

Through verses to the muse that carries the torch

The future of men burns mysteriously

In a woman’s eyes and her unceasing heart

She knows not the spouse of her goals and lords?

But in her breast flicker mighty dreams!

I dreaming of her smile (as people dream!)

Am given the inconceivable gift of a few weeks

In her rapturous presence sweet and fair

A fragment of the treasure-house of lost youth

I know you call my flattery idle, but the splendour here!

The purity of my guest, so darling, so violently lovable!

The mornings are executed for nights such as this

New Year’s eve buds of metaphors and growing shores

Of the triumph of my wandering into the grove of you

Where by strange designs I found a piece of my soul

In your British wit and Persian weight of lightness

I am the gambler of love, a friend to your success

Through verses only can I contemplate you fully

Our smile, it shivers through our bodies mute

This is how long and beautifully I can keep a grin,

This is all the drunk praise of the revolution of your banner.

I always love reading your work because it is just gorgeous. Your use of imagery is absolutely inspiring. "British wit and Persian weight of lightness"-that is brilliant! It takes these traits of the cultures and embodies them into this wonderful story you have created. Never stop writing, doll!
