The Alchemy of Opposites

The Alchemy of Opposites

A Poem by Prophecy
"

Life would throw us together? She would do this to us?

"

You are invulnerable as I am vulnerable

You are innocent as I am irreversibly down-trodden

Your destiny is high-born and privileged

As my fate has been a market of humility

So then how can I express my internal feelings?

As our eyes cross for a brief second along the way

You are the dream of time and burnished gold

The diamond hue of the bright universe’s integrity!

As I am the lonely and poor and reflecting moon

You in your illustrious Noon of youth, so marked

With passion and controlled determination

Me with my nomadic subservience to a fleeting life

You grand and female, me pitiably masculine

Your womb the power of a thousand generations

My seed the wasted protein of doomed limitation

Your greatness of lengths thoughts and heighted deeds

Contrasts strangely with my exercised poverty.

Well this is a veritable contrast between the sexes;)

I can't help but love your idealism of the feminine and subordination of the masculine...its the feminist in me... But overall, your imagery and idea are superb, I truly enjoyed reading the beauty of your words...

This is so lovely, I loved the comparison and contrast within this poem. Your word choice was excellent and this poem has such a velvet lyrical quality to it, it pulled me in immediately. Well penned.

Oh wow thanks.
@ Simi, a woman who can force me to write poetry, is my friend. Now if only I was her lover...

Opposite attract! loved this. Now reverse it! They say everything you see in others is also in yourself! You certainly sound like class to me. Thankyou.
