To You Who Derive Beauty in my MindA Poem by Prophecy
One by one I took your limbs like petals The husk that conceals the heart of our flesh Which we share in the gentle night In the rapture of our shared budding colors You gave your pollen to me and I scattered it Like a delicious tulip of our silky dream-span You like a lamp and mirror of our honey-warmth Last in me like a fragrance I call home One by one you let me loosen your resistances Until we yearned for the sun of love A mutual fascination with the light As I painted your veins with care and you Sculpted me a hungry fire in the dark One by one you let go of all your inhibitions And we were trustworthy in our shared aliveness.
