The Greatest GardenA Poem by S.L.HIn this I give my all and more For sanctioned sinners win But vacant hate will win the war If fought outside than in Two truths will breed and bare the fruit I offer all mankind For no less sacred is the bond Of daughter, son and I With them I wait, My patience strong As will would will it so My wife, my seeds, this life so brief Thankfully my flowers grow
Idle I, yet honoured still Gifted by the sight My children's minds, such supple vines Rising to the light So when I am but dust and gravel Leaving all I made Will it be me, or my children, free To pave the new found way?
