DepressionA Chapter by Noir Crescent
I live a plain old life,
I live a simple life, I live a life, a life no more, As I peer into space beyond worlds. I lost something today, I don’t know what it was, But I thought nothing of it And moved on. I met someone today, He was sweet and wise, So charming, Who was he? Every time we met, I had to ask his name And every time I forget. What a shame. I recall every meeting we had, I recall every conversation we exchanged, I recall every emotion I shared, And he seems to never share. Strange. I can’t see his face, What did he look like? What did he sound like? Who was it? Nevermind, It probably was nothing, It probably wasn’t important, I should probably move on. I took a step, I took another, I fell. Help. Clawing at the floor, I tried to get back up, I call for help, I think I called. Minutes go by And I grew tired, Dizzy, And the world seemed to collapse. With whatever strength left in this worn out body, I outstretched my hand towards a shadow looming overhead, I last heard a muffled voice calling out as I dropped my arm And my mind went blank. I woke up cold that night, Oddly cold around the chest As I stumbled to walk in a familiar blue room Draped in white. A wandering breeze chilled my back, an incandescent light revealed to me; A shadowy figure extending an open hand That warmly invited me to open the door standing before me. Behind the door was morning, There stood a tree in the distance of the great plain With laughter echoing about in the air As I joined them in unbound leaps. However, I couldn’t help But feel like I’ve forgotten something. © 2018 Noir Crescent |
