Metal and Earth

Metal and Earth

A Poem by Prodigo

There are six dressed men and there is a box

There are no windows, there are no locks

Heavy rain and a flight of stairs

Six dressed men ruin their hair

Holding the box and holding it tight

Down the stairs and into the light

The crowd had come through great wooden doors

Death is a victory and life is at war

This is not sad, my family in black

Because in a casket, you can't look back
