In the depths of blue sea

In the depths of blue sea

A Poem by Pranks

I dived deep into the blue water
Light seeped in and made the blue beautiful
I swam on and on, lost in the white medley of blue

The fishes and turtles swam past me unafraid,
The corals struck the senses out of me
The sea does hold more colors than an artist's palette.
I smiled like a fool enthralled by their beauty
Forgetting time and worldly worries.

The sea deepened and the water turned dark,
I felt a strange silence creeping into my heart.
The sick yellow sea plants hovering above me
Cut out the white tinge of the earthly sunlight
The darkness instilled fear in my soul
As I paused to turn around,
My eyes caught sight of a gleaming long tail.

My body went numb while my mind thrilled with wonder
Mermaid, she was for sure; bestowed with heavenly grace.
The gray scales making a girdle round her delicate waist
The flowing black hair and a soft aura made her real.
She turned around and looked at me; my heart stopped.

When I opened my eyes, I was lying on the sand
Two kind eyes looked upon me
The red lips curved into a comforting smile
And whispered, " Are you alright?"
