Sublime Desperations

Sublime Desperations

A Poem by Priyanka Natesh
"

It really is strange how despite the blandness of the surroundings, love survives.

"

Lying deep beneath a mesh of nerves

A blinding spark,

A shimmering twinkle

His figure arouses, entices my senses

The butterflies fly loose,

Heart quivers, lips tighten

Mind conscious of his bold gaze

I let the wind through

To flow through every crevice

Aware of my female charms

I dare him to touch me

A fleeting image of his lips on mine

His hands on me

Devouring my being

His hair on my face

Our bodies twining into one

Mingled desperation finally at peace.

My flushed cheeks, he bends to kiss

Nestled in my bosom he whispers his needs

Blissful convergence I long for each day

My love, can you hear me?

Make me your mistress, a succulent secret.

I really like the passion and the tenderness in this poem. You can really tell that both the narrator and the lover care deeply for one another. I like the image you start the poem with. It is vivid and creates a nice image, and it capture the true nature of how the body works.

I do have a few minor suggestions for you, but I will send those over in a personal message. Well done and good write!

This poem seemed to plunge lower and lower into the more taboo parts of love. I eventually found myself witnessing the captivity of the narrator in the shadowy depths of her sensual desires. The last line saddened me for some reason...maybe it's because I interpreted 'mistress' to mean sexual property or something of the sort...the narrator's apparent desire for such status in the mind of her lover unnerved/saddened me if only because she is willingly surrendering herself......but maybe that's the needed mutuality of successful love....like a symbiotic yin-yang relationship....but I wouldn't know : )

Well written; thought provoking.
