Brooding. None so magnificent

When sadness isn't magnificent any more…

But leaves you shrivelled and scared

Been proved wrong before?

Yea, been there, seen that,

But when the face in the mirror

 

Is not you

There’s no possibility of love

No,

Not when you don’t know yourself

                                                       Who are you?

                                                   What do you want?

'We accept the love we think we deserve' my favorite dialogue from one of my most favorite movies. Your poem not only bears (a lil more than slight) semblance to it but also poignantly conveys that failure to know oneself more often than not leads to acceptance of things much lesser than what one deserves... A fact more scary than it is saddening...
