EutrophicationA Poem by PrithikaThis haiku poem expresses the feelings of the ocean and hopefully it would inspire some people to start changing the way they live.
I get sucked away
Through the stench that strangles me Straight into the depths I turn grimy brown Leaving me to stare at myself And wonder what life is for Life drains out of me The magical blue going away Making me to cringe The cloudy acids Burning me , drown me in tears I am here - helpless Are YOU listening? Washed in a wave of darkness I hear myself - scream The last spark of hope Fades out ,watching my friends die I become hollow My future real slim , Stripped off my beauty and glow I can only wait Mankind never helps Do YOU want to watch me die ? You only ruin me Boils cover my skin Covering my line of view- I writhe Green smoke rises up Slime wraps around me Whispering nonsense and crap I cannot help but ... Swallow this green gloop Knowing that this could kill me My foe lurks smirking I lisp in anguish Is it too late to escape? Quietly I think..... This orange substance Chokes my insides- I'm fighting I am not worth it Does anyone care? Pressing for my final breath I shut down my eyes Destroying my world Makes you a plain murderer Not too late to change! The Ocean © 2016 PrithikaAuthor's Note
