Assasination of Hope

Assasination of Hope

A Poem by PrissyThePoet
"

Society grooms us to believe in false hope - the government.

"

It's an assasination of hope, can we live can we cope?

Can we strengthen up our minds to not feed into their dope,

And go down that slope...

They hanging our faith with them same ropes

That they used to kill our pride, but see now us they boldly choke, to them we just a joke.

But it ain't even about black and white, it's about oppressing people as a whole,

And see the easiest way to do it is racism because it's old, reverting back to that story told,

Thought we had the glory but they snatched away our gold,

Thought we had gained freedom but once again they stole...

That away from us...new day, but mentally we still sittin on the back of the bus

1 in 3 young black men go to jail, COME ON...you can't tell me that it's just bad luck, it's just another way for them to keep us stuck

But... I'm tryin to look at the bigger vision,

They assisanting us because we the deepest and the realest on our mission,

Got the closest and strongest ties with him,

But see GOD, low-key, slow-ly, tryin to eliminate the definition...of him

IN GOD WE TRUST, no longer in production,

Pledge of Allegiance gone, all faith is in reduction,

And being patriotic, might as well call that seduction

Because how I see it, who do they really trust in?

If not GOD, I guess they just cool with committing sin

But then again, here's my one question?

They KNOW their ranks and titles but do they UNDERSTAND them,

True comprehension of the power in their hands,

The power to oppress a whole people and snatch heritage from a man, just to steal his land...

But back to the future, Sean Bell - 50 Shots, that's overkill

Telling us to stay faithful, yet our hope, they steal

All 3 acquitted, come on, underground government deal, yet they telling us to just chill

But see it's a figment of racism that stay in their minds, so they keep it in the headlines,

Keep blaming us for all the crimes,

And  because they have the power they can ultimately control the times

But that don't make it right, if it was up to them the definition of power would just say white,

Truth be told it's because they know we could EXCEED their heights

They so scared of being inferior, so they keep chasing and snatching for the superior

We saying "hey we just want to be equal" but it's like they ain't hearing us,

Truth be told, it's because they really fearing us

But woe unto my people, I know the struggle, I know it's hard

But keep praying for your mind so that you can forgive them in your heart

Because in the end those "superiors" gotta answer to GOD

And ain't nobody bigger then him...

I pray everyday for anybody in our government

Because they truly don't understand that - money, taxes, and wealth...don't mean a thing

Because there ain't no price on that ticket to heaven

Just my thoughts on the government and the false hope they have so many of us believing in - the best thing to do is believe in yourself!
