Shame

Shame

A Poem by Tom Friel

I was born with a fistful of dollars
I was born with a crooked smile
I was born with an empty
Belly full of lust
I was born
Without a trial

Miles and miles
I've traveled Lord
Miles and miles
This ball and chain

Smiles and smiles
I’ve given Lord
Smiles and smiles
Can't hide the shame

I was born with a fistful of dollars
I was born with a crooked smile
I was born with an empty
Belly full of lust
I will die
Without a trial

- T.G. Friel
