Archie Bunker's Bah Humbug!

Archie Bunker's Bah Humbug!

A Poem by Tom Friel

I hear that ring ting tingaling
Ding ding dingaling cheer
They're hoping I'll give them money
It happens every time this year

Outside the crap is falling
Freeloaders blocking my view
Come on its crummy weather
Don't you have something better to do?

Giddy-yap, Giddy-yap,
Giddy-yap let’s go!
Get outta my way!
Fat chance
I’ll share my hard-earned pay!

Giddy-yap, Giddy-yap,
Giddy-yap let's go
Anywhere but here!
Don’t think
Your open palm
Will be filled by me this year!

I hear more ring ting tingaling
Ding ding dingaling cheer
Ah Jesus, Joseph and Mary
It's all getting scary

Edith why are you here?

I'm here to help the needy
So Archie why don't you share?
You'd make a lovely Santa
Don't you want to sit in his chair?
