Life

Life

A Poem by Tom Friel

What isn’t said
Is often times
Louder than what we hear
The directions
We often times take
Usually come without signs
Or maps
Or even advice
To be honest
Despite all efforts

To help
We ignore all pleas
All suggestions
All demands
Even threats
And simply follow
That unspoken
Inner compass
That leads us
To where we are going
