Ghosts

Ghosts

A Poem by Tom Friel

“Don’t need no ghosts ‘round here.”

Some things disappear in life

Only to reappear later on

Often times at funerals

Pale faces coming

Out of nowhere

To pay their last respects

Invisible are

The real reasons

For their returning

Still it spooks some

Believing in their minds

That had laid to rest

Once friendly ghosts

A long time ago
