Bell Jar

Bell Jar

A Poem by Tom Friel

Stir her world
Rattle the cage
Take her hand
Turn this page

Show her life
And all its colors
Open the door
To her first lover

Pry her away
From apron strings
All pretty birds
Were born to sing

Let her dance
And be entertain
Let her laugh
And drink champaign

Help her bloom
In summer’s sun
The joy of living
Includes some fun
