Works For Me

Works For Me

A Poem by Tom Friel

I like it simple
I like shallow ponds
And rolling up my sleeves
I like anyplace
As long as it’s someplace
That I belong
I like beer
And good jokes
And seeing those
Big s**t-a*s grins
From my bigger assed friends
I like smoking a good smoke
And getting lucky
When the 8-ball goes in
I like a burger and fries
And a girl with soft eyes
I also like it
When she likes to fish

Very well written! I love how you can appreciate the simple things in life.

That was my song, too, about twenty years ago, Tom. Too many fries, smokes and beers caught up with me and blew out half my heart. Now I limp along on three cylinders, but I still like soft-eyed girls and all that other stuff. A great poem--well written. Sam

So very simple and beautiful. Sometimes that is what you need to read. I loved it! I really don't have any suggestions either...sorry:)
