When I Paint My Masterpiece

When I Paint My Masterpiece

A Poem by Tom Friel

DeKooning found the staircase
Picasso filled his needs
The artist feels to him what’s real
From his soul his heart thus feeds

In love I’ve found my palette,
Sweet memories they blend so true
Impressions made from every touch
And every day, with thoughts of you

A canvas filled by love
A masterpiece by two
A painting shared together
My heart again, thanks you
