The Blood Rimmed Cordial

The Blood Rimmed Cordial

A Poem by Tom Friel

The roses were white
The lady she was blue
The cordial deep red
The face no one knew

Tonight we shall knock
On deaths shadowed door
Search though uncertainty
Until we find more

Procuring what's just
From clues that convey
Death's veil will slowly lift
With proof to be weighed

In love and in death
Life's passion holds the key
Locked, lost or broken
Can lead to death's entry
