Small Town Life

Small Town Life

A Poem by Tom Friel

Nostalgic parks and little noise
All small towns hold some joy
Like Aunt Mary and her pies
Or Uncle Jim setting one aside
Rows and rows of yellow corn
Summer dreams again reborn
Tiny dancers that fill the lawn
Glowing to their mystery song
Sleepy cows that calmly gaze
Friendly smiles greet each day
A mother’s quilt that's almost done
Grab your honey have some fun
Neighbors call with muddy boots
Familiar faces most with roots
Autumn leaves and harvest begins
Small town folk all share a grin
