"X" Marks The Spot

"X" Marks The Spot

A Poem by Tom Friel

Quick was his pace
Even though
He wasn't going
Very far
A signal from within
Told him to stop
And forget about
Chasing the car

Could it be a vision
Received in his nap?
Had he seen  an 'X'
Somewhere on a map?
Buried treasures
Would he find?
Or possibly
Just peace of mind

His vision now
Becomes quickly clear
As he slowly begins
To lower his rear
Where it lands
Is it fate?
Or just a case of
Cannot wait

Okay. I'll offer some picky advice and then the accolades.

Since you are using the question mark as punctuation, you should probably place one after --

"Or possibly
Just peace of mind "

We can almost see the "dog owner out of control" element within this work. We are one, but he's the boss kind of thing. Capturing that spirit is a good, good thing. Only a dog lover could do it, I think.

This contrasts very well with the other entries "The Kitchen Sink" competition. I wish you well in the balloting.
