The Leprechaun

The Leprechaun

A Poem by Tom Friel
"

I spotted this wee fella up on my bar this morning. I figured he was trying to get an early start on St Paddy's Day... so I sat down and had one with him. :)

"

He’s a dancer of words
Who can laugh as he cries
He will toast to your health
Ever sincerely
With his mischievous eyes

He will smile with a wink
Making light of your wealth
As if he had a pot of gold
Ever closely
Somewhere hisself

With a skip in his walk
And a brogue in his talk
He will challenge you
Ever charmingly
With his non-stop double-talk

He will puff on his pipe
Whilst whistling a tune
Admiring the clover
Quite intently
Before picking one or two

With tales of a land
Ever so green
He’ll whisper in your ear
Ever gently
"Tis finest ya ever seen"

Wealthy in advice
As well as in gold
Life is like a rainbow
Ever lovely
More treasured than gold
