Life's Masquerade

Life's Masquerade

A Poem by Tom Friel

Curling his lip in
Svengali soft speak
He sampled his prey
So many were weak

Demon of conceit
All eyes in a hold
Planned from the start
You do as you're told

Lost in the shuffle
All cards get laid
Winner takes all
In life's masquerade
