Lying In Softly Falling Snow

 

 

Crunching tiers over snow

Covered streets

Carols on the radio – “Have yourself a merry little

Christmas, Let your heart be light…”

Cold noses and stealing adoring glances

 

 Finally and truly happy

 

I remember the bright light

I remember it happened too fast

I had no chance to think, to breathe

I felt no harm

I felt no dismay

 

Only love

 

Tomorrow will come

Bloodied snow will melt

Cars can be repaired

Sisters are always forgiven

Each day is a blessed day

Mothers are always there

A small town’s love is heard loud and clear

 

… There were no screams as claimed by your shed tears,

 

 

 

 

Only your own

This was a great piece! The element of song lyrics tied the entire thing together quite nicely. I particularly like the following lines:
"Tomorrow will come
Bloodied snow will melt
Cars can be repaired
Sisters are always forgiven
Each day is a blessed day
Mothers are always there
A small town's love is heard loud and clear"

For some reason, that struck me as an interesting string of facts. It's refreshing to read something with a lighter ending, and I applaud your work. Thank you for sharing!
