Hello WorldA Poem by Lilly ChapmanHigh school and me.“Hello World,” I say As I'm starting a brand new day I walk into High School Never prepared for the new rule Of being a different person The school was very diverse in All the new people “Hello World,” I say Getting ready for a replay Of hard work and harder people People who are watching life through a peep-hole Never really living Never really seeing Save them from the end Be their friend “Hello World,” I say Standing in a hallway I stay Having an episode of anxiety Oh why for the love of humanity But still, I smile Knowing it is only for a while So I stop and remember all I have accomplished And all my fear is abolished “Hello World,” I say Ending the season into the gray The ground is white But still yet light I can’t wait to go back To the place that I bring my backpack © 2018 Lilly ChapmanAuthor's Note
