I Miss You Daddy

I Miss You Daddy

A Poem by Fiona C

Larger than life

Both in size and spirit

Yet so gentle with your love

Your wicked sense of humour

Touched all who knew you

Leaving laughter in your wake

Your t-shirt that said

“I’m not Santa but you can sit on my lap”

Tickled you pink to show the ladies

Always willing to do anything

For anyone

A true and fast friend

Taken so suddenly from us

To dwell in heaven

My heart is broken

My eyes shed tears for my loss

But happiness for you

For your reunion with Craig

Watch over us daddy darling

Shedding raindrops of tears

As with your passing

Smiling with the sunshine

And laughing with the thunder

I will miss you

Forever and always

R.I.P

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my daddy in 2009 and it took a couple years i guess till i was able to write about him. I wish you peace.

This gives us a glimpse of the man your father was. He seems like a truly beautiful person from the words you have written here. Great tribute and many strong lines.

I have been blessed to not know what the feeling of loss is.
Beautiful and tragic.

I am so very sorry for your loss Fiona, truly am. Though in truth, sorry doesn't take the pain away. I lost my Dad nine years, so I empathise and offer a shoulder should you need one. Blessings to you love x

You sound a lot more coherent that I would have given those circumstances. There's something soft and eloquent about this. A beautiful tribute to his spirit.
