Fish Hook

Fish Hook

A Poem by Kaitlin Siobhan

I'm a girl
You're a boy
Not exactly my style

But you've got something all the girls don't
Couldn't quite put my finger on it

I'm so confused
Cause my heart beats fast when you're near
My knees get weak
Oh no, I'm so confused

Then we start with the talking
And you've got my full attention
I can see the words the escape your lips

You extended your arm
And I'm like a fish on a hook
This is unlike me

But you've got me feeling like a girl should
And I'm addicted to your stories
Your expressions
Your fingers

Oh no, I'm so confused
I'm a girl
You're a boy
This is not my style
To fall in love

But you've got me
Like a fish on a hook

Great job with the extended metaphor! "I'm addicted to your stories/Your expressions/Your fingers" caught my eye- fingers are so rarely used when describing attraction. That attention to detail really lifted up the whole poem.
