Paper Mache

Paper Mache

A Poem by Kaitlin Siobhan

I am made of paper mache

With a fragile heart inside my chest

I am made to live this way

To be worse off than the rest

I’ve been waiting for so long

To find a love that feels so good

But is so wrong

Instead I found a fragile boy

When I was searching for a girl

And the first time that he kissed my lips

It was the first time I felt any sense of joy

Now I’m trying hard

Not to break his heart

Because I was made to destroy

But, he knew this from that start

I am a ticking bomb

Tick tock away with time

And when I was to fall in love

I was meant to destroy

But he held me close

And loved me back

And saved the world

From a bomb made of

Paper mache

and yet it makes perfect sense...this poem is a polished apple...such sweet and sometimes mischievous phrasing...i want to read more and so i am going to read more...sometime soon :)

This is really beautiful. The metaphors you use are gorgeous.
