WAR

WAR

A Poem by Kaitlin Siobhan

She is a pen that has lost it's ink
For a half written song

She is a pencil with a broken tip
In the middle of a sketch

She is an empty piece of paper
In a journal, Left in a box,
Stored in a basement

She is the aching heart
Of a girl, Leaving love
To fight a war, Terrified as s**t,
To loose, The only boy
Who ever loved her

And she is
Shaking in the dark
Forgetting how to breathe

Cause what if he falls in love?
Again
With bullets flying overhead

She is just a girl
Trying to hold it all together
Because she knows
That soon she'll have to go

And in her head
She knows, That the distance
Can create a stronger bond
Or shatter it to pieces

And if this falls apart

She will be
A broken body, An empty vessel
Absent minded. She will have
Lost

And she is terrified as s**t
Too loose, The only boy
Who dared to love her.
