i know

i know

A Poem by Kaitlin Siobhan

someone may say
that it's too soon
that three months is not enough
to know
but i know
it's that feeling i get
reminds me of the butterflies
and your finger tips spark electricity
sending surges right through  me
it's the look in your eyes
catches my breath
those three words you speak
makes it nearly impossible to breathe
and some would say
that we're naive
too young
that we're too soon to tell
but i know
you and i were made
to fit
and we fit so well
so perfectly
it's chemistry
& butterflies
and they say that it's too soon
but i know
i know.

Sometimes we think we know but time proves otherwise
Boredom sets in and kills the butterflies.
You recognise the faults and flaws you did not see
because you were so certain that you could be
The one exception to the rule and realise you were a fool
To think you knew and had no time to listen to
advice from those with more life experience.
Sometimes known as common sense
