Drowning

Drowning

A Poem by Kaitlin Siobhan

I'm suckin down cigarettes and I can feel the tar building on the cancer. I'll be coughin up blood in the morning. My eye lids are like lead and my muscles are goo. My heart is slowing. It's been a while since I've felt like this.

The demons, they've managed to find a pin hole to slip their poison. I'm drowning, suficating on air. My fingers tips slip on keys as I poor my soul that none will see. And Death is sitting by my side waiting for me to make my choice. He wants to take my life tonight. Should I be so willing?

"Take my heart instead." I say to the demon, "And maybe it wont get hurt that way." Cause how can a heart hurt the body it belongs to when it's missing?
I take another drink and drown. It's getting hard to think. It's getting hard to breathe.
