Kissing Glass

Kissing Glass

A Poem by Kaitlin Siobhan

Don't say you love me

If you're not sure it's true

Don't tell me you want me

And go back to her arms

Don't toy with my head

You know what I've been through

You know what she did

Don't get me wrong

I love how our hands fit so nicely

How our fingers entwine

The feeling of your body beside mine

But I hate the wall between us

I'm tired of kissing glass

Don't look at me that way

With that yearning in your eyes

Asking me to -

Don't, just don't

I gave you my heart

It's used, with a few scratches

And I know sometimes it skips

Repeats a bit

But you said that you

Don't want to hurt me

So you have a choice

And only you can make it

Don't keep me waiting

Because the longer the clouds keep cryin

The more I think about jumpin

Don't get me wrong

I love how you say "I love you"

And how tightly you wrap you arms

Around me

And how you still let me wrestle

Even though we both know the outcome

Don't get upset

But

Don't say you love me

If you're not sure it's true

Because I love you

Perhaps too much

And I

Don't think I could take it

If this ended up just another game

Even one not purposely played

Don't get me wrong

What I mean to say is;

I love you

And I'm so sick and tired of this wall

Between us

I'm tired of kissing glass
